Movie watch: Chronicles of Narnis: Prince Caspian : boring!

Andrew Adamson directed the 'largely drab until the war scene' part one of Narnia, and he doesn't do any better here.Sleepy through the first half, and even more sleepy in the second half, except for momentary occasions in the war scene, the characters arrive and go without any explanation.

A poem by Ogden Nash

Ogden Nash (1902-1971) was a funny American poet, writing verse that defied categorisation.
Among other things, he wrote poems on animals, insects and other creatures, like the poem below:

The Firefly

The firefly's flame
Is something for which science has no name
I can think of nothing eerier
Than flying around with an unidentified glow on a
person's posteerier.

Prabhudeva's Choreography: two video links

From a Micheal Jackson wannabe, Prabhudeva has created some great choreography for commercial Indian films.
He has turned director too, with Pokiri..a film he is currently remaking in Hindi with Salman Khan in the lead..
Pokiri (Tamil) is not much of a film, but has couple of refreshingly choreographed songs.

Here is one:

Movie Watch: Ironman: Witty, clever, some great acting

Robert Downey Jr. plays Ironman

Ironman is not a great superhero movie, but it is witty and is supported by a good script and some great acting.
Robert Downey Jr. excels as Tony Spark and Ironman. Gwyneth Paltrow returns to the screen as Spark's assistant. I was not disappointed nor overwhelmed, except for the last line of the movie...bit too much?

Movie watch: The Forbidden Kingdom

Keyaaah! Eyaaah!

Kung fu is back with a bang.

Forget the story though, or the formuliac plot, because we are not complaining.

Jackie Chan and Jet Li create art in a deadly duel, the centerpiece of the movie, the other fight scenes are good too..
Lot of subtle-sounding stuff like "..hear the soundless.." and wacky nonsensical one-liners help us turn a blind eye to the story of a Kungfu movie crazy teenager going back in time to "fulfill the prophecy", as it often happens in this much-loved Hollywood genre.

A breezy watch, largely due to Chan and Li creating some extraordinary moments of martial art.
